To the Bone (2017) ★★☆☆☆

1200

★★☆☆☆ – Meh!

Filled with underdeveloped characters and a meandering plot that barely manages to hold your interest.

Lilly Collines delivers a credible performance with the limited material she’s offered and the film is interesting in that it documents the trials and difficulties that a person with the conditions has to endure. There is also a palpable sense of unease throughout the film that doesn’t make for pleasant viewing. But the story fails to drive these emotional themes home even with these positive traits.

This might work for those with a personal link to the disease but for the average viewer, it’s a sadly hollow yet mildly educational experience.
